Dolphin / Mahi-Mahi
Dolphin or mahi-mahi are one of the most beautiful and acrobatic fish in the sea!
Fast runs, strong fighters, and excellent jumpers, they put on a show even seasoned anglers enjoy! They are also
excellent table fare.
Dolphin fishing in our waters starts in April, is red hot by mid may and continues thru early or mid fall.
Typically caught trolling ballyhoo or lures on our offshore trips, but can also be caught on the nearshore trips
in the hot summer months. Frequently seen crashing thru the surface as they approach a bait. Multiple hookups are common,
creating the perfect scene for the cockpit tango!
Mahi-mahi are often under appreciated when booking a charter. The alure of billfish and tuna are attractive, but
the colors, leaps, speed, great eating, and consistency of mahi are unbeatable.
Dolphin limit is 10 fish per person per day.
